Richard Esguerra, <a href="https://sports.abs-cbn.com/pba/photos">ABS-CBN Sports</a></figcaption></figure></div>MANILA, Philippines -- Entering his 14th season as a professional, Barangay Ginebra point guard LA Tenorio has become more than just a leader for the most popular team in the league.Tenorio has also grown to be a mentor for the young Gin Kings, a role that he has come to embrace.&quot;In my position right now, I&#x27;m looking for a player na talagang iga-guide ko,&quot; Tenorio said after Ginebra&#x27;s game against San Miguel Beer last Sunday. Tenorio, who has been one of the premier court generals in the PBA for over a decade, remains a tremendous player in Year 14 of his career. During the 2017-18 season, he averaged 12.5 points, 4.6 assists, and 3.5 rebounds while playing 57 games. He played a huge role in Ginebra&#x27;s run to the title in the 2018 PBA Commissioner&#x27;s Cup, and was also called up to the Philippine national team for the fifth window of the FIBA World Cup Asian qualifiers late last year.But Tenorio is well aware that he has a bigger responsibility than just playing for his ball club.&quot;Siguro nasa sitwasyon ako ngayon sa career ko na yes, I can still play, but at the same time it&#x27;s time for me to guide the young players,&quot; he explained. &quot;Gusto ko rin maging good example sa kanila while playing, hindi lang &#x27;yung puro turo lang ako then &#x27;di ko naman ginagawa in front of them,&quot; he added.<ul class="op-related-articles">	<li><a href="https://sports.abs-cbn.com/pba/news/2019/01/22/pba-race-smc-team-can-win-grand-slam-52471">READ: Race is on to which SMC team can win a Grand Slam first</a></li></ul>Tenorio has already served that role for Scottie Thompson, and he has found another potential protege in Ginebra rookie Teytey Teodoro.A third-round draft pick whom Ginebra signed to a one-conference contract in the off-season, Teodoro has had solid showings in his first two games, earning praise from Tim Cone in the process. Tenorio said his impact is comparable to what Thompson did in his first year with Ginebra.&quot;It reminded me of when Scottie first came to the team -- ganoon din na nagbibigay ng spark, then eventually, nakuha niya &#x27;yung rhythm niya sa games,&quot; said Tenorio after Teodoro scored 6 points and dished out a pair of dimes in Ginebra&#x27;s 99-91 loss to San Miguel Beer last Sunday.&quot;Hopefully, si Teytey ganun din mangyari. He has to adjust pa rin. Pero mukhang beterano siya eh. He knows what he&#x27;s doing, he&#x27;s a smart player,&quot; he added.Teodoro has said that he looks to both Thompson and Tenorio for guidance, and the veteran Ginebra guard is only too happy to share his wealth of knowledge and experience to the former Jose Rizal University standout.&quot;The good thing about Teytey and our young players is that they&#x27;re willing to learn. Go pa rin sila magtanong, &#x27;di sila nahihiya, and I made sure na &#x27;di sila mahihiya sa akin,&quot; said Tenorio. &quot;Kasi that&#x27;s a natural feeling, syempre nine or 10 years &#x27;yung gap namin sa edad.
