Their achievement gave them a thrice-to-beat edge against whomever they will face in the Finals, meaning the Lady Stags only need to win twice, while their opponent needs to beat them three times.It is a bonus that offers no comfort to Soltones and the rest of the Lady Stags.&quot;Sabi sa amin ni Coach Roger, katarantaduhan lang &#x27;yung maniwala kami sa thrice-to-beat advantage,&quot; Soltones said in her characteristically blunt manner, moments after powering San Sebastian to a 22-25, 25-22, 25-13, 25-14 victory over De La Salle-College of St. Benilde (CSB).&quot;Wala namang advantage eh,&quot; she explained. &quot;May advantage din &#x27;yung kalaban – twice-to-beat sila. Last season, she and the Lady Stags marched to the championship round unbeaten, and were stunned by the CSB Lady Blazers in a four-game series.That marked the second straight year that San Sebastian lost in the Finals, while CSB won its first women&#x27;s volleyball title.&quot;Ang mindset namin dapat, hindi ganoon, kasi baka magre-relax na naman kami na hindi naman dapat,&quot; said Soltones.Meanwhile, Gorayeb pointed out that their thrice-to-beat advantage only gave them a one-game cushion in the Finals, but in essence they are still playing a best-of-three series.&quot;Lagi kong sinasabi na ang thrice-to-beat, isang beses lang ako manalo, tapos na ang laro,&quot; he said. &quot;Eh hindi eh.&quot;The Lady Stags will play the waiting game for now as the rest of the teams in the Final Four – CSB, San Beda College and Arellano University – battle each other in a step-ladder playoff for the other berth in the Finals.
