(LVPI) remains uncertain if Alyssa Valdez will be able to make it to the tryouts for the women’s national volleyball team for the Southeast Asian Games.LVPI acting president Peter Cayco acknowledged during Tuesday&#x27;s Philippine Sportswriters Association forum at Golden Phoenix Hotel in Pasay City that the 3-time UAAP Most Valuable Player has a schedule to follow in Thailand where she plays for 3BB Nakornnont in a domestic league.“We intimated to her that we would love to have her during the tryout but her schedule might not permit it kasi kaka-open lang ng league sa Thailand,” explained Cayco, who was with Philippine Olympic Committee vice president Joey Romasanta.“So we&#x27;re hoping she will make it to the other legs of the tryouts.” The Manila leg of the tryouts concluded on Tuesday. There will also be tryouts in Cebu and Davao in the coming weeks.Romasanta said the “dream team” to be assembled may not only be sent to the SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur, but also to 2018 the Asian Games in Indonesia.“The SEA Games is something that we really need to take seriously as other countries are taking it seriously as well,’’ he said. “Hopefully, we should be able to qualify (based on POC standards) for the Asian Games.”Among those expected to make up the team are Jovelyn Gonzaga, Rachel Anne Daquis, Aby Marano, Denden Lazaro, and siblings Jaja Santiago and Dindin Manabat-Santiago.Cayco earlier said that Valdez intended to return home in time for the tryouts.“Nakapag-usap kami noon (before she left for Thailand) ang sabi niya sa akin uuwi siya para sa tryouts,” he said.For more sports coverage, visit the ABS-CBN <a href="http://sports.abs-cbn.com" target="_blank">Sports website.</a>
