Mobile Legends: Execration, Aura PH take wins in MPL7 opener

MANILA (UPDATE) -- Mobile Legends: Bang Bang team Execration and Aura PH clinched wins to kick off Season 7 of the Philippine leg of the ML:BB Professional League on Friday, March 19, after winning against Smart Omega Esports and league newbies Work Auster Force.

A new-look Execration consisting of Renz “Renzio” Errol Cadua, Patrick “E2MAX” James Caidic, Kiel “Kielvj” VJ Hernandez, Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog, Grant “Kelra" Duane Pillas, and Billy ”Z4pnu" Jazha Alfonso stunned Smart Omega's Kenneth Jiane “Kenji” Villa, Jeniel “Haze” Bata-anon, EJ “Heath” Esperanza, Salic “Hadjizy” Imam, Jankurt “KurtTzy” Matira, and Adrian “Toshi” Bacallo with a quick win to take the upper hand in the Group B stages.

Omega Esports started strong in the first few minutes of the first set, leading in gold value and destroyed turrets.

However, Execration had other things up their sleeve with Hernandez leading the way for last year's third-placers. Execration turned things around in their favor destroying all their turrets.

With Smart Omega's players wiped out in the final seconds of the match, Hernandez stormed the base and single-handedly destroyed it, handing them the first set.

The second game seemed balanced in the first few minutes of gameplay, but Execration anew dominated until they swept the game series in favor of their squad.

Hernandez took the MVP award for the game series with 8 kills, 0 deaths, and 7 assists to his name in the last game using assassin character Ling.

Prior to the series, Hernandez met an accident the night before, according to his mother, but was cleared to play Friday.

Aura PH, made up of Christian Provido "Rafflesia" Fajura, Allen Jedric "Greed_" O. Baloy, Ashley Marco "Killuash" Dungo Cruz, Jaypee "Jaypee" Dela Cruz, Frederic Benedict "Bennyqt" A. Gonzales, and Jaymark Aaron "Lord Hadess" Tomas Lazaro came from behind after losing the first match against Work Auster Force, who entered the league after dominating the qualifier rounds in January.

Using team effort, Work Auster Force - paraded by Daniel “Chuuu” Chu, Dylan “Unravel” Catipon, Patrick “rTzy” Grecia, Thom Aldrin "Moht" R. Bernardo, Clarense “Kousei” Camilo, and Frediemar “3MarTzy” Serafico - was able to outsmart a more experienced Aura PH team to take Game 1.

Aura PH then had dominant showings in Game 2, forcing a rubber match and sustaining momentum in game 3, making quick work of Work Auster Force to claim the win.

Laus Playbook Esports Team, another new team in the MPL7 franchise will go head to head with Nexplay Esports at around 4 p.m. on March 20.

World and domestic championship title holders Bren Esports will cap off the March 20 match ups as it goes against ONIC Philippines come 6 p.m.
