MANILA, Philippines – American boxer Timothy Bradley Jr. has spent the lead-up to his April 9 bout against Manny Pacquiao promising that it will not play out the way their previous two encounters in 2012 and 2014 did.

Bradley has repeatedly pointed to the presence of new trainer Teddy Atlas in his corner as the biggest difference, claiming that Atlas has given him a great game plan and handled his training camp as well as he possibly could.

"Everything's all approved by Teddy," Bradley recently said, as quoted by Boxing Scene. "We're not making mistakes this time around. No overtraining."

Bradley claimed a disputed split decision against Pacquiao when they fought for the first time, but the "Pacman" won a clear decision in the rematch. The American boxer is now targeting a legitimate win against Pacquiao, with help from Atlas.

But Pacquiao's trainer, Freddie Roach, has his doubts about Atlas' ability to truly change Bradley and predicts that the April 9 showdown will go the way of the previous Pacquiao-Bradley matches.

"He has a new trainer," Roach said, referring to Atlas, as quoted by Boxing Scene. "He has completely changed his game plan."

"However, I don't think a boxer can completely change their style in such a short time," he added.

Bradley won his first fight with Atlas in his corner last November, when he knocked out Brandon Rios in the ninth round of their welterweight encounter. Roach was not too impressed by that win, however, having said in previous interviews that Rios came into the fight out of shape.

"I see a fight (the third fight) that will be very similar to the previous ones," Roach predicted. "I hope Manny will knock him out this time, to put a cherry on the cake, as it's going to be the end of his career."

"Teddy Atlas believes he is the world's greatest trainer, but I don't know how much he can change Bradley, a fighter who has always been very dedicated to the gym," he added.

Pacquiao plans to retire after his fight against Bradley, which is why Roach has been stressing the importance of going out with a bang.

"Manny will be a little more aggressive," Roach promised. "I've said that, as this is apparently his last fight, so we need to look very good."
