MANILA, Philippines – Former De La Salle-College of St. Benilde star and the captain of the Philippine men's national volleyball team, Johnvic de Guzman, will play for PLDT in the upcoming season of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL).

It marks de Guzman's return to volleyball action since he led the Philippines in the Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last year.

De Guzman had opted not to play in the pro ranks last year to focus on training for the national team.

"Sobrang excited na po ako to play again and go against my idols sa PVL," de Guzman said. "Reunion din po naming ito ni Coach Ojie (Mamon)."

"I also wanted to thank PLDT management for allowing me to work around my schedule. It will be my first time in the PVL, so gagawin ko po ang lahat para matulungan ko po ang team ko," he added.

De Guzman will still have to juggle his schedule with his ongoing acting workshops, hosting duties, and endorsement commitments. Aside from playing for PLDT, he is also set to be launched as one of the newest faces of Regal Artists Management alongside Virtual Playground.
