It also harvested 22-15-17 in another medal-rich sport gymnastics.It also clinched 7 gold and silver in the athletics, breaking 2 records in the games.Leading the NCR in medal haul were swimmers Thanya dela Cruz with 4 gold medals, Philip Joaquin Santos (4 gold and 2 silver medals), and Jasmine Mojdeh (6 golds and a silver). <ul class="op-related-articles">	<li><a href="http://news.abs-cbn.com/sports/04/21/18/anak-ng-kasambahay-kampeon-sa-palaro-ipapagawa-ng-bahay-ang-pamilya">Anak ng kasambahay, kampeon sa Palaro; ipapagawa ng bahay ang pamilya</a></li></ul>Forty records were broken in the one-week competition — 19 in swimming, 16 in athletics and 5 in archery. Included in the list of new Palaro records was the one set by Kasandra Hazel Alcantara of NCR, who broke the 26-year-old secondary girls shot-put mark set in 1992. Calabarzon remained in second spot in the overall standings, improving their gold-medal output from last year with 55 top podium finishes besides 50 silver and 73 bronze medals. The Southern Tagalog was heavily lifted by its athletics team, which collected 19 golds in track and field and destroyed 6 records in Palaro. Sprint queen Jessel Lumapas of Cavite pocketed 4 golds and a silver, highlighted by a record-breaking 400-meter performance and was named top athlete on the track this year. Sprint king Veruel Verdadero of Cavite, on the other hand, added 3 gold and 2 bronze medals for Calabarzon.Region IV-A almost swept the volleyball competitions after reigning supreme in elementary boys and girls, and secondary boys division. Its secondary girls team failed to defend the title, bowing to the NCR in a five-set gold-medal match.Completing the top 5 performing regions in Palaro were Western Visayas (46-45-55) for third, Central Visayas (26-25-36), and CAR (25-22-23). Next year&#x27;s Palarong Pambansa will be held in Davao City.
