Mono Vampire claimed Game 2 on the road, 103-100, before the Philippine squad stunned them on their home court last Saturday, 99-93, to close in on the ABL title.Buoyed by their vocal fans, however, Mono Vampire refused to fold on their home floor.Hometown hero Chitchai Ananti played in the finals for the first time and made an immediate impact, scoring six points in the opening quarter, including a triple that pushed Mono Vampire ahead, 23-18, at the end of the first period.The Thai club held a slim 45-42 lead at the half, but back-to-back Local MVP Ray Parks towed Alab Pilipinas all the way back in the third quarter.Parks completed a three-point play to trim their deficit to one point, 66-65, before Brownlee&#x27;s lay-up pushed Alab Pilipinas ahead, 67-66, with 1:26 left in the third quarter. Singletary responded with a triple to restore Mono&#x27;s advantage, but Parks&#x27; floater with 44.6 seconds left tied the contest at 69 heading into the payoff period.Unfortunately for Alab Pilipinas, they gave up a 10-2 run to open the fourth frame, with Deguara doing most of the damage. The big man was simply unstoppable inside the paint, as he scored six points in the run while also shutting down Renaldo Balkman on the other end.Alab came as close as three points, 86-83, with 1:18 to go after a Lo Domingo bucket and two charities by Brownlee. A turnover by Singletary gave them a chance to further trim the deficit, but Parks&#x27; fadeaway jumper was well-covered by Deguara.On the other end, Zamar drove in for the running floater that pegged the final score, and Alab had no answer.Zamar finished with 11 points, while Singletary finished with 20 points, seven rebounds, and eight assists.Parks led Alab Pilipinas with 21 points, eight boards, and five assists, but Balkman was held in check, scoring only 18 points on 7-of-21 shooting. The co-Defensive Player of the Year also had to sit out a bulk of the third frame due to foul trouble. Brownlee finished with 18 points and 13 boards.Alab had a huge 51-35 rebounding edge that kept them in the game, but they also committed 26 turnovers – 19 in the first half – that Mono translated to 24 points. Alab Pilipinas will try to win the country&#x27;s first ABL title since 2013 in front of its hometown fans on Wednesday in Sta.
