Handout</figcaption></figure></div>Petron XCS kicked off its title-retention campaign on a positive note, beating Generika-Ayala-A 19-21, 21-14, 15-8 in its opening match of the Philippine Superliga Beach Volleyball Challenge Cup at the Sands By the Bay at Mall of Asia on Wednesday.Sisi Rondina and Bernadeth Pons crawled back from a set down to pull off the win over Fiola Ceballos and Patty Orendain, the same pair they crushed in last year&#x27;s finals.Petron then defeated Danika Gendrauli and Nene Bautista of Cocolife-A 21-19, 21-10 to give Petron an early lead in Pool A.Also emerging victorious were Mylene Paat and Rap Aguilar of Cignal-A, which recovered from a sluggish second set en route to a 21-19, 5-21, 16-14 win over Generika-Ayala-B.Also in Pool B, Dhannylaine Demontano and Jackie Estoquia of Sta. Lucia-A downed Cignal-A 14-21, 21-19, 15-5.Foton’s Nieza and Jeziela Viray beat Cherry May Vivas and Janine Navarro of Cignal-B 21-16, 21-17 in Pool C while in Pool D, Jonah Sabete and Bianca Lizares of Sta.
