MANILA, Philippines -- There is still no timetable for June Mar Fajardo's return to the hardcourt, as the San Miguel center continues to heal from after suffering a leg fracture in February.

Speaking to ABS-CBN News' Dyan Castillejo, Fajardo said he is no longer in pain and is now able to walk without assistance, but he is not pushing his body during the healing process.

"Getting better naman 'yung shin ko, 'yung healing medyo maganda 'yung healing. So sana, tuloy-tuloy," said Fajardo, who suffered the injury during San Miguel's practice last February 3.

"'Di ko masyadong minamadali. Ayun nga, nakakalakad na ako, pero ayaw kong maging aggressive sa body weight," he explained. "So, kung maari naman, magka-crutches pa rin ako para hindi lang mabigla 'yung shin ko."

"Sana tuloy-tuloy 'yung healing."

Fajardo has been mostly staying in his home during the lockdown, only going out for hospital visits with Dr. Raul Canlas. The big man said the surgeon has yet to give him a timetable for his recovery.

"Wala pa siyang sinabi na timetable. Pero dapat healing daw muna. Dapat mag-heal muna ng husto 'yung injury para hindi paulit-ulit," he said. "So pag nag-heal na, tuloy-tuloy na."

In the meantime, Fajardo keeps himself busy with video games and movies, while also learning a new skill -- painting. He also does the exercises sent to him by Dr. Canlas and their own physical therapists to stay in shape while still in the process of healing his injury.

Fajardo, along with the rest of his San Miguel teammates, also got tested negative for COVID-19.

San Miguel has played only one game in the PBA All-Filipino Cup, beating Magnolia in their season-opener before the league suspended all activities because of the pandemic. The PBA Board of Governors will decide the fate of the season in August.
