From alberto&#x27;s Facebook page</figcaption></figure></div>Filipino-rider Timothy Joseph &quot;TJ&quot; Alberto continues to step up his game internationally following his feat in the Campionato Italiano Velocita in 2017 as part of the Ducati Motocorsa Team. This year he doubled his commitment, lining up for the grid while sporting the number 77 and the Philippine flag at the ever competitive FIM Superstock 1000 European Championship (STK 1000). Alberto takes the challenge against 18 international competitors including 2017 title holder Florian Mariano, German STK1000 race winner Markus Reiterberger, and Italian duo Roberto Tamburini and Luca Salvadori. Alberto is the first and only Filipino racer in the series.“It&#x27;s a big step to go into a world level championship like the STK1000. Of course there is more pressure involved but at the end of the day we have to relax and concentrate to be as good as these high caliber racers,&quot; said Alberto.The opening round of the season began at Aragon, in Spain, on April 13-15 and will end at Magny Cours, in France, on 28-30 September, for a total of 8 rounds. Alberto was able to score his first points on the first race of the season by coming in at the 13th position in Aragon.“I&#x27;m very happy to have scored this and it&#x27;s good to have points already on the board this early on the season. It was a release of tension from the pre-season as the goal has always been to score points. Now that this is accomplished we can only go up from here,” he said.He had difficulties in the second and third races in Germany and Italy due to a crash and mechanical mishap but he was able to bounce back last week finishing 12th at Donnigton Park in the UK.Alberto will also compete in scheduled races in other countries like the Netherlands, Italy, the United Kingdom and Portugal.
