MANILA, Philippines – Pocari Sweat import Krystal Rivers on Thursday finally received her International Transfer Certificate (ITC), allowing her to suit up for the Lady Warriors in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference.

PVL officials received confirmation at 6:59 p.m. that Rivers will be allowed to play.

"Seeing that the FIVB VIS system has not solved the problem yet, the FIVB permits the player Ms. Krystal Rivers to play from now," FIVB international transfer coordinator Carlos Roberto de Assis said in an email addressed to Peter Cayco, acting president of the Larong Volleyball Sa Pilipinas, Inc., and forwarded to the PVL.

Rivers, already wearing Pocari's jersey No. 13, took time to review her documents and did join her teammates inside the court.

As it turned out, however, the Lady Warriors did not need her on Thursday as they crushed the Power Smashers, 25-19, 25-22, 25-21, to advance to the Finals.

Pocari coach Rommel Abella admitted that he was aware Rivers was already cleared to play, but opted not to field her in out of respect for the Power Smashers.

"Well actually going to the game alam ko meron na eh. But siyempre unfair naman dun sa kabilang team kung last minute, magpapalit tayo ng player. So it's just right na hindi na muna napalaro," he explained.

Rivers will make her debut in the best-of-3 Finals against the Bali Pure Water Defenders.
