<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img alt="Mula sa Facebook page ng Commission on Higher Education" src="https://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2023/news/06/13/20230613-ched.jpg"/><figcaption>Mula sa Facebook page ng Commission on Higher Education</figcaption></figure></div><p>MAYNILA – Pormal nang lumagda sa isang memorandum of agreement nitong Martes ang Commission on Higher Education (CHED) at National University (NU) na naglalayong gawing mas propesyonal ang sports coaching sa bansa.<br/> <br/>Dumalo sa MOA signing na ginanap sa Pasay City campus ng NU sina CHED Chairman Prospero De Vera, NU Chairman Dr. Hans Sy, NU President Dr. Renato Carlos Ermita Jr., at CHED Executive Director Atty. Cinderella Filipina Benitez-Jaro.<br/> <br/>Ayon kay De Vera, napiling katuwang ng CHED ang NU dahil sa magandang sports facilities nito sa Laguna na akma para sa sports coaching program ng bansa.<br/> <br/>Kumbinsido ito na kailangan ng bansa ng ganitong uri ng programa na layong makapagsanay ng mga world-class na tagapagsanay na sila namang tututok sa mga atletang Pinoy.<br/> <br/>“As a serious athlete all my life and as a father of an athlete who was a Palarong Pambansa champion, I know the travails of athletics in the Philippines on a personal level and on a parental level. And one of the things that I want to do when I was appointed to the Commission was for CHED to take a more serious role in sports development through our higher education institutions,” sabi ni De Vera.<br/> <br/>Aniya, mayroong problema ang istraktura ng sports sa bansa na kinakailangang tugunan sa pamamagitan ng coaching program.<br/> <br/>“We know the problem, we also know the solution. The problem is our governance structure in sports is not very well aligned from the grassroots all the way as you go up,” sabi niya.<br/> <br/>Sa ilalim ng Coaching Education and Development Program, ang NU ang maglalatag ng training program para sa coaches sa iba&#x27;t ibang uri ng sports na popondohan ng CHED sa halagang P19-milyon, kaya magiging libre ang programa sa pilot implementation nito.<br/> <br/>“The initial funding is P19-million for the first batch,” pahayag ni De Vera.<br/> <br/>Magbubukas ang NU ng aplikasyon para sa mga coach na nais maging bahagi ng programa, kabilang ang mga kalabang koponan ng paaralan. <br/> <br/>“Everybody is welcome, no matter what color you have and animal,” sabi ni Ermita.<br/> <br/>Bago tumama ang COVID-19 pandemic ay nasimulan na ang Inspire Sports Academy ng NU sa Calamba, Laguna. Subalit naudlot ito dahil sa ipinatupad na mga lockdown, ayon kay Sy. <br/> <br/>“This Inspire Academy has been there already. Actually, it just came in right before the pandemic. The timing wasn’t so good, but we have already done it. Ever since we took over National University, I felt the best to really market and also to develop are the athletes. I believe athletes are the most intelligent people. Imagine playing basketball, the ball is passed to you, in a split of seconds you know what you have to do,” sambit nito.<br/> <br/>Dagdag pa ni Sy, hindi lang ang coaches ng NU at ng iba pang unibersidad ang magbebenepisyo sa programa dahil bahagi aniya ito ng matagal na niyang pagnanais na matulungan ang sektor ng sports sa bansa.<br/> <br/>Nasa 280 coaches para sa 14 na sports discipline gaya ng basketball, volleyball, swimming at iba pa ang kabilang sa unang batch.<br/> <br/>Paliwanag ni De Vera, manggagaling sa rekomendasyon ng National Sports Academy ang mga magtuturo sa coaches na sasali sa programa.<br/> <br/>“We will get it from the recommendation of National Sports Academy, depende din don sa topics na ite-train, we we’re getting both local.
