Golfer Juvic Pagunsan secures berth for Tokyo Olympics

ticket to the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, after landing in the top 60 in the Olympic rankings. </p><p>The Asian Tour confirmed Pagunsan’s inclusion on Tuesday, the same day the International Golf Federation, qualifies</a></li></ul><p>Pagunsan, 43, the Mizuno Open champion, is the 13th Filipino to qualify for next month’s Games.</p><p>His countrymen who have earned tickets to Japan include: Kurt Barbosa (taekwondo); Margielyn Didal (skateboarding); Cris Nievarez (rowing); EJ Obiena (pole vault); Jayson Valdez (shooting) Carlos Yulo (gymnastics); Erleen Ando and Hidilyn Diaz (weightlifting); and Irish Magno, Eumir Marcial, Carlo Paalam and Nesthy Petecio (boxing). </p><p>According to the IGF, the top 15 world-ranked players are through to the Olympics but with a limit of only 4 players from one country. </p><p>For instance, there are 10 Americans in the top 15, but only the top 4 will be in. </p><p>With Dustin Johnson withdrawing, Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Xander Schauffele and Bryson DeChambeau qualify. </p><p>Outside the top 15, the world rankings will further determine whether a player qualifies, “with a maximum of two eligible players from each country that does not already have two or more players among the top 15.”</p><p>Factoring in the multiple players representing one country, the rankings went as deep as the 340th ranked player — India’s Anirban Lahiri — to fill
