MANILA -- (UPDATED) Alyssa Valdez made a triumphant return to the Premier Volleyball League.

The Creamline Cool Smashers made quick work of Chery Tiggo, 25-22, 25-22, 25-17, in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference, Tuesday evening at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.

Tots Carlos led Creamline with 24 huge points in only three sets, coming from 21 attacks and three blocks.

The returning Valdez scored three points and contributed 10 digs, while Jema Galanza put up 12 markers of her own.

Tied at seven in the final set, the Cool Smashers busted out a 12-4 scoring run to create a comfortable 19-11 lead en route to their victory.

This win spoiled the debut of Eya Laure in the pro league. The former University of Santo Tomas superstar put up 14 points and 15 excellent receptions.

The Cool Smashers' next assignment is against the debuting Quezon City Gerflor Defenders on Thursday at 1:30 PM as they gun for their second win in the conference.

Meanwhile, Chery is hoping to bounce back when they face the Akari Chargers on Tuesday, July 11, 4:00 PM at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
