Arvin Lim, <a href="http://sports.abs-cbn.com/pvl/photos" target="_blank">ABS-CBN Sports</a></figcaption></figure></div>MANILA, Philippines – The Creamline Cool Smashers sent a message to the rest of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) that they are not a one-woman team following a straight sets demolition of the Power Smashers on Wednesday in at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.In their first game without team captain Alyssa Valdez, the Cool Smashers came away with a 25-22, 25-21, 25-22 victory, with setter Jia Morado utilizing every weapon in their line-up. Pau Soriano and Rose Vargas each scored 15 points, and Coleen Bravo added 13 to lead the way for Creamline.It was an impressive victory for the Cool Smashers, who had mostly relied on the high-scoring Valdez in their first four games of the tournament. The former Ateneo de Manila University star is averaging 27 points per game for Creamline, the highest mark in the league.Without the &quot;Phenom,&quot; Creamline displayed its teamwork and depth. While Soriano, Vargas and Bravo were their top scorers on Wednesday, Cesca Racraquin and Rizza Mandapat also had their moments, and veteran Ging Balse came off the bench for four points.&quot;We&#x27;re always telling our players na Creamline is not about Alyssa – it&#x27;s about the team,&quot; said Creamline assistant coach Oliver Almadro. &quot;It&#x27;s about kung sino ang nandiyan. It&#x27;s an all-around effort para sa players. Hindi isang tao – everybody delivered,&quot; he stressed.[The players were resilient. As you can see, everybody delivered. Even those that came off the bench delivered. So it was an all-around effort from the players. It was not just one person – everybody delivered.]Morado, who finished with a whopping 62 excellent sets in just three frames, said they did not dwell too much on Valdez&#x27;s absence.&quot;Hindi naman pwede na dahil wala si Ate Ly, mawawalan kami ng aasahan sa loob ng court,&quot; said Morado, who will serve as Creamline&#x27;s captain while Valdez is in Japan with the national team. &quot;Sabi nila coach, kailangan maniwala na kaya naming pumuntos ng kami-kami.&quot;&quot;Hindi naman kami sobrang nagre-rely kay Ate Ly, even when she was here,&quot; she added. &quot;Nagre-rely kami sa bawat spiker na papasok sa loob ng court, so it wasn&#x27;t much of an adjustment.&quot;[Just because Ate Ly is not here does it mean that we won&#x27;t have anyone to rely on inside the court. Our coaches told us to believe that we can score, too. We did not rely too much on Ate Ly, even when she was here. We rely on every spiker who plays, so it wasn&#x27;t much of an adjustment.]Balse, who came off the bench in the second set and provided solid defense and veteran leadership, said that even without Valdez, they remain a complete team.&quot;Buo pa rin &#x27;yung team namin. Sabi namin, go pa rin tayo,&quot; Balse said. &quot;Manalo pa rin tayo. Walang nawala, walang nagkulang. Enjoy lang. Enjoy lang kami sa game.&quot;[Our team is still complete. We told ourselves to keep going and keep winning.
