Photo courtesy of Jat Tenorio, PSC</figcaption></figure></div>Cherry May Regalado took home the bronze medal in the pencak silat competition of the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta on Monday.Regalado shook off the stigma of a medal-less campaign in last year’s Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur by scoring 444 points in women’s seri singles (form), just a point behind Singapore’s Nurzuhairah Mohammad Yazid (445), who clinched silver.Indonesia’s Puspa Arumsasi won the gold (467).Regalado missed the podium at last year’s SEA Games in the same event, a loss that she said was a bitter pill to swallow.Instead of sulking, though, she got back on her feet. “Hindi ko napigilan ang pag-iyak noon sa SEA Games kasi po alam ko na makaka-medal ako,” the 23-year-old Nutrition graduate at the Aklan State University in Banga town said.It is the 11th bronze medal of the Philippines in these Games, and 14th medal overall.Pencak silat is a form of martials arts that traces its roots to Indonesia.<div>For more sports coverage, visit the <a href="http://sports.abs-cbn.com">ABS-CBN Sports website</a>.</div>
