Dennis Gasgonia, ABS-CBN News</figcaption></figure></div>Three Pinoy teenagers got an experience of a lifetime by joining a football camp in Munich, Germany.Miguel Basmayor, Ivy Tapiz and Catherine Bradborn were selected from a field of more than 4,000 youngsters who vied for the chance to participate in the 10th Allianz Junior Football Camp in Munich, which was held August 27 to 31.The three first made it to a list of 8 participants, who trained in Bangkok. From there, the Asian representatives were chosen.In Munich, Basmayor, Tapiz and Bradborn underwent a 5-day camp with 53 teenagers from 22 other countries. They also watched a live FC Bayern game, and even met and witnessed the professional footballers train.It was more than enough to boost their dreams of becoming professional football players one day.“It brings me one step closer to my dream to become a professional football player. I wanna work even harder to achieve it,” said Bradborn, a Filipino with British lineage and based in Angeles, Pampanga, who was delighted to meet former FC Bayern superstar Oliver Khan.De La Salle Zobel’s Basmayor, a former national youth member, relished the chance sharing the pitch with European players.“For me, it was a really good experience playing with the Europeans. They have a different style of play and it was a really nice experience to know how they play,” he said. “We needed to step up to reach their level.”Tapiz, who hails from Dipolog, Zamboanga del Norte, said that despite the language barrier they seem to understand each other whenever they step on the pitch.“Noong una, awkward kasi ‘di namin alam ‘yung language . . . ‘di talaga kami nagkakaintindihan ng mga foreign players,” said Tapiz. “Pero once nasa inside na kami ng pitch, iba man ang language, pero pag naglaro na ng football nagkakaintindihan na kami.”For more sports coverage, visit the ABS-CBN <a href="http://sports.abs-cbn.com" target="_blank">Sports website.</a>
