(UPDATED) Juan Miguel Elorde&#x27;s bid to become a world champion lasted all of four rounds, as he was knocked out by Mexican title-holder Emanuel Navarrete in Las Vegas on Saturday (Sunday in Manila).The grandson of the late, great Gabriel &quot;Flash&quot; Elorde was challenging for the WBO super bantamweight title, hoping to achieve an upset and snag his first world title.But Navarrete, the champion, was heavily favored even though he fought barely a month ago. Navarrete had quickly dispatched of Francisco de Vaca in three rounds when they fought last August 14. His match against Elorde was no different.While Elorde had a good start, Navarrete got his groove in the second round and began to connect with solid shots. He dropped Elorde in the third, and it was unsure if the Filipino challenger would come out of his corner for the fourth round.Elorde eventually did, but Navarrete continued to unload punches with the Filipino providing little defense.
