The Soaring Falcons defeated University of the East, 63-61, Sunday afternoon at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.Adamson hero Monty Montebon fired 16 points which included the season-saving trey, as well as seven rebounds and six assists. Big man Ced Manzano also contributed 16 markers, while also contributing 10 boards, four steals, and two assists.Down by a point following a triple by Jack Cruz-Dumont with only 11 seconds remaining, Montebon hit a booming triple in the following play to allow Adamson overtake UE, 63-61.Cruz-Dumont still had three seconds to try to tie or steal the game, but his shot only hit the top of the backboard, allowing the San Marcelino-based squad to improve to 7-7, tied with Ateneo de Manila University for no.4 in the standings.“I was just in the zone during that play. When I got it, I didn’t know who was behind me. So I just did a step-back corner [three].
