Coach Yeng Guiao. PBA ImagesMANILA, Philippines – Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao is still upbeat despite seeing his team go down 1-3 in the 2024 PBA Governors' Cup semifinals.

Guiao said Wednesday that the team is looking at the "positive perspective" after the loss and believes that Game 4 "could have gone either way."

The Elasto Painters were outlasted by the TNT Tropang Giga, 79-81, at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

"We still feel good about the series," the decorated mentor expressed. "We know it's going to be [us] climbing back, but we're getting used to finding ways to win. Tingin namin, this game could have gone either way. And if we had won this game, the series would have been tied."

He was referring to the endgame of Game 4, wherein it saw the thrilling playoff action go down to only one possession.

It was Rondae Hollis-Jefferson who took over in the clutch for TNT, slamming one home after making his way to the basket versus his counterpart and defender, Aaron Fuller.

Hollis-Jefferson eventually made defensive stops that virtually sealed the deal for the TNT.

Given the American-Jordanian basketball player's sensational and high-intensity performance throughout the series, Guiao quipped that he might "tire out" if the series went to Game 6 or 7.

"Our hope is just to keep the series going. RHJ is playing like more than 46 minutes a game at a high intensity. Sa tingin namin, kung ma-extend namin ito ng six or seven games, there's a possibility that he might tire out," said Guiao.

"So that's just our objective. Keep the series going. Manalo ka lang minsan, that means there's another game," he added. "At some point, we'll be fresher than they are."

The seven-time PBA champion coach said the Elasto Painters will return on Friday keeping the lessons they got from tonight's match.

"We will come back on Friday with some more lessons learned from this game, Guiao declared.

Game 5 will be held in Ynares Center in Antipolo. Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m.
