"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">La Salle Green Archers superstar Kevin Quiambao. <em>Photo from UAAP Media</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — Kevin Quiambao&#x27;s star shone the brightest yet again during De La Salle University&#x27;s 94-87 overtime win over the University of Santo Tomas, Wednesday evening.</p><p>The 6-foot-6, do-it-all forward fired his career-best 29 points (10/17 FGs, 4/6 3pts) on top of nine rebounds, three assists, and a steal, and the Muntinlupa native bared that these numbers are dedicated for God and his family above all.</p><div><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/sports/2024/10/16/uaap-la-salle-avoids-meltdown-escapes-ust-in-overtime-2056">READ: La Salle avoids meltdown, escapes UST in overtime</a></div><p>&quot;First of all, yung Diyos, si God, then yung newborn baby ko, and yung girlfriend ko yung motivation ko,&quot; the Gilas Pilipinas forward told a few reporters following the game.</p><p>He also credited his fellow Green Archers for his performance, maintaining that it was them who made his personal record-setting outing possible.</p><p>&quot;Yung motivation rin is makita ko na masaya yung mga teammates ko, na ma-motivate ako every possession dahil dun,&quot; said Quiambao. &quot;So nung nakuha ko &#x27;tong career-high na &#x27;to, credit sa kanila lahat. Hindi ko naman makukuha &#x27;to kung hindi dahil sa kanila.&quot;</p><p>Quiambao even admitted that it was only through the reporters present at the Mall of Asia Arena that he knew about achieving his career-best in scoring in that game.</p><p>&quot;Una kong narinig dito sa media, and nagulat ako. Pero ang mahalaga naman, nakuha namin yung panalo eh,&quot; he emphasized. &quot;Mag career high ka nga, natalo naman kayo, wala din. So, ayun, lagi ko lang iniisip na gusto ko manalo para sa team. Yung pansariling achievement, kusang darating yan.&quot;</p><p>&quot;Thankful pa din ako na nakuha ko yun, pero focus on the big picture ako lagi,&quot; he said.</p><p>Quiambao made three of his total points near the end of regulation to extend La Salle&#x27;s lead to six, 80-74, and he also converted a pair of free throws as well as a crucial basket early in OT to set the tone of how they eventually broke away in the last three minutes of play.</p><p>However, the reigning Most Valuable Player said that this shouldn&#x27;t have been the case for the defending champions.</p><p>&quot;First of all, hindi na namin pwedeng paabutin sa ganung mga sitwasyon,&quot; Quiambao insisted. &quot;Kailangan lang namin i-value every possession. And wag na wag namin hahayaan na masria yung momentum namin.&quot;</p><p>Quiambao also had three of DLSU&#x27;s total 26 turnovers to the Growling Tigers 20 — with these errors allowing UST to trim a once 40-20 deficit — and for the versatile forward, these are what he and the whole squad must take away from his game, not his scoring production.</p><p>But he is not taking this negatively, rather a factor that can point out what they still need to improve on.</p><p>&quot;As a leader, pag nagkakamali ako, kung ano yung pinapakita ko sa team, kung down yung morale ko, down sila. So pag nagkakamali ako, sinasabi ko lang na mali ko yun, next play tayo. Wag nating pilitin nang pilitin. Antayin lang natin na dumating sa atin yung laro,&quot; he explained.</p><p>&quot;Yung mga sa mistakes naman, yun naman yung pina-practice namin. Yung mga turnovers, yung mga unforced turnovers, marami lang kaming iniisip sa game, pero hinahayaan kami ni coach.
