Photo from PBA Images.</div>MANILA — Justin Brownlee will finally make his return to the PBA championship stage, but awaiting him in the best-of-7 affair is a previous Finals tormentor — Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and the TNT Tropang GIGA.Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and TNT faced off in the Season 47 edition of the Governors&#x27; Cup Finals — with Hollis-Jefferson&#x27;s squad blemishing Brownlee&#x27;s erstwhile perfect championship round record — and the Gilas Pilipinas star is ready for another go around with the prolific import. &quot;I&#x27;m just happy we got a step closer to the championship,&quot; said Brownlee, who had 21 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, three steals, and two blocks in their 102-99 Game 6 semifinals win over the San Miguel Beermen on Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum.<div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/sports/2024/10/20/ginebra-ousts-san-miguel-sets-up-govs-cup-finals-rematch-with-tnt-2134">READ: Ginebra ousts San Miguel, sets up Govs&#x27; Cup finals rematch with TNT</a></div>&quot;We&#x27;re in the finals and got to look forward. It&#x27;s been a great run, but it&#x27;s not over for us yet,&quot; added Brownlee. &quot;We know we got a tougher battle ahead of us.&quot;In their previous meeting with TNT, Brownlee and the Gin Kings bowed to the Tropang GIGA -- which at the time still featured high-scoring guard Mikey Williams -- in six games. Jojo Lastimosa was also TNT&#x27;s head coach back then, and Ginebra lost the series despite holding a 2-1 lead.The Gin Kings also had Christian Standhardinger as their main big man in that series, while taking turns in relieving the Fil-German -- now with TerraFirma Dyip -- were former TNT players Justin Chua, Dave Marcelo, and Carl Bryan Cruz.But despite the completely different rosters that both teams will be parading in the seven-game series that will start next Sunday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo, Brownlee maintains that Hollis-Jefferson will still be the among biggest factors that they will need to face and overcome. &quot;[RHJ] is so strong, man. I got a lot of respect for him and his game. Of course, we got some recent history, the past and recent history,&quot; Brownlee said of Hollis-Jefferson, whom he defeated in last year&#x27;s 19th Asian Games to bring home the gold with Gilas Pilipinas.&quot;Asian Games, PBA Finals. It&#x27;s always an honor to play against a guy like that who&#x27;s been very decorated his whole amateur and professional career. He has been having an incredible professional career overseas as well.&quot;&quot;That&#x27;s why he was in the NBA. For me, I feel like he should be in the NBA. He&#x27;s really good, so It&#x27;s going to be a fun matchup. Fun for the fans, good for the fans,&quot; he added.Aside from this, JB is also wary of the differences in what it means to go up against June Mar Fajardo and SMB, and against TNT. &quot;San Miguel is a tough team. I got a lot of respect for those guys. It&#x27;s always an honor to share the court with them,&quot; Brownlee said. &quot;But things are going to be a little different. Obviously, San Miguel, they got June Mar, so they go a lot to the post. But TNT has a different offense, the dribble drive. So it&#x27;s going to be a lot different, but it&#x27;s still not going to be easy.&quot;And despite having the chance for redemption against the import and the squad that gave him his only loss in seven appearances, Brownlee insists that their focus should be on what they need to do rather than the narratives. &quot;Hopefully, we can do what we got to do to win the championship,&quot; he emphasized. &quot;Of course, we want to, I guess you could say, try to get revenge for the finals [loss] from last year, but we&#x27;re just looking to take one step at a time.
