Photo from NCAA Philippines.</div>MANILA — San Beda University tallied a dominant win over Emilio Aguinaldo College to boost its chances of entering the NCAA Season 100 Final Four with a twice-to-beat advantage.The Red Lions banked on their strong start to complete their 30-point beatdown of the Generals, 89-59, in their men&#x27;s basketball tournament Round 2 faceoff, Wednesday afternoon at the San Juan Arena. Emman Tagle was on fire from the bench, putting up a game-high 20 markers on 7/14 shooting from the field, while big men Bismarck Lina and Yuki Andrada followed with 18 and 14 markers, respectively.This victory raised San Beda to 10-5, still within short distance of the current No.2 seed Mapua University which is at 11-3.Also helping the Red Lions to take a better hold of the fourth spot and avenge their first-round loss against EAC were AJ Royo and Jomel Puno who both had nine points for the Mendiola-based team.Only a two-point game with San Beda ahead 10-8 midway through the opening period, the defending champions slowly break away in between the first and second quarters, with Tagle putting up 17 of his total points in that span to help build a 48 to 29 lead at halftime.The Red Lions did not lose any steam in the second half and pounced on their opponents further in the third period all thanks to Andrada&#x27;s perfect quarter — seven points on 3/3 shooting — and they did this while also limiting the Generals to only six points in the same frame.This eventually allowed the Yuri Escueta-coached team to build a 33-point cushion, 89-56, late in the game, and that was all they needed to send their opponents to 7-8.This standing of the Generals puts them in a triple tie with Colegio de San Juan de Letran and Lyceum of the Philippines University at the fourth and final playoff spot as they all hold similar records. King Gurtiza and Harvey Pagsanjan each put up 10 for EAC.<div>THE SCORES: </div>San Beda 89 – Tagle 20, Lina 18, Andrada 14, Royo 9, Puno 9, Songcuya 6, Tagala 5, Gonzales 3, Payosing 3, RC Calimag 2, Estacio 0, Bonzalida 0, Celzo 0, Richi Calimag 0.EAC 59 – Gurtiza 10, Pagsanjan 10, Doromal 6, Bacud 6, Quinal 5, Loristo 5, Oftana 5, Ednilag 4, Ochavo 2, Jacob 2, Postanes 2, Lucero 2, Luciano 0, Bagay 0, Umpad 0.Quarterscores: 24-17, 48-29, 66-35, 89-59.<div> </div><div> </div>
