Photo from UAAP Media </div>MANILA — Far Eastern University cruised past the University of the East to preserve its spotless campaign in UAAP Season 86.The Morayta-based squad swept the Red Warriors in the league’s men’s volleyball tournament, 25-22, 25-17, 25-15, Sunday morning at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.Jayjay Javelona starred for the Tamaraws, putting up 13 points, 11 came from attacks and two from blocks.“Nagpapasalamat ako kay coach kasi kahit saan akong puwesto ilagay, nakakaya ko and nagaadjust talaga ako palagi. Ready talaga ako,” said Javelona, who also got four digs and four receptions.Martin Bugaoan followed with 11 markers, nine from attacks and two from blocks.After a close encounter in the opener, the Tamaraws were able to dominate the next two sets, and playing a factor in this was FEU outscoring UE in attacks, 42-35, while also committing seven fewer errors than their opponents, 22-15.“Happy sa performance and sa magandang nilalaro ng team, so hopefully magdire-diretso lang,” FEU head coach Eddieson Orcullo told reporters during the post-game interviews.Also standing out was the duo of Dryx Saavedra and Andrei Delicana who added eight and seven points, respectively in the game that propelled them to their third victory in as many games.Meanwhile, JP Mangahis top-scored for the Red Warriors with 21 receptions and 10 points that were built on 10 attacks.Helping him were Tebs Aligayon who finished with nine markers and two digs, and Shan Camaymayan who got seven markers.The Recto spikers still failed to produce a win in three games.FEU’s next game will be versus University of Sto. Tomas, and it will be on Sunday at 12 PM. On the other hand, the Red Warriors will be going up against Adamson University on the same day at 10 AM.Both games are to be played at the same Pasay-based arena.
