MANILA - Onic Philippines is now tied for the top spot in the MPL Philippines Season 13 standings with AP Bren after a convincing 2-0 win over ECHO Sunday night.

The Orcas, who initially tied with Onic for the second seed, dropped to third with a 5-3 record as they suffered their second straight loss.

Onic Philippines, which re-rostered from last season and recruited prime acquisitions such as King Cyric "Kingkong" Perez and Duane "Kelra" Pillas, came off a 2-0 win over then solo top seed AP Bren.

Game 1 had Frince "Super Frince" Ramirez pull off a crucial diversion play with Kelra on Luo Yi, helping them stealthily create a four man wipeout leading to an open base on the opponents' side.

The Sonics made the final blow in Game 2, cruising through the reigning world champions, again with the help of Kelra.

“Walang takot talaga. Walang panghihina ng loob. Kung mapapanood niyo, sobrang aggressive ng team and nakakaparoud na nalalabas nila yung ganung laro lalo sa mga high stake na match," ONIC coach Patrick "E2MAX" Caidic said.

Onic Philippines now holds identical 7-1 game records with AP Bren, but has a slim lead in the match win-loss differential.

AP Bren managed to recover from Saturday night's loss with a 2-0 win over a skidding Blacklist International squad, while Minana EVOS, banking on a huge upset over ECHO last Saturday, are now on a two-game win streak with a sweep of TNC Pro Team.
