<div style="margin-bottom:0px;line-height:normal;-webkit-text-stroke-width:0px;-webkit-text-stroke-color:rgb(0, 0, 0)"><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1713695806444IMG_3527.jpeg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">The De La Salle Lady Spikers. <em>Photo from UAAP Media.</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA (<strong>UPDATED</strong>) — De La Salle University imposed its dominance over rivals Ateneo de Manila University in straight sets.</p><p>The Lady Spikers swept the Blue Eagles, 25-12, 25-12, 25-18, during their UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament match on Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.</p><p>Thea Gagate top scored for the Taft-based squad with 16 points, 10 from attacks and six from blocks, Shevana Laput finished with 15 points and three digs, while Julia Coronel tossed 17 excellent sets for DLSU.</p><p>La Salle improved to 11-2 in the tournament, forcing a three-way tie for first place along with National University and University of Santo Tomas.</p><p>Despite the victory, La Salle deputy coach Noel Orcullo believes that there are still a lot of things that their squad needs to work on especially since the postseason is near.</p><p>“Yung lagi naming sinasabi namin sa kanila, wag lang aalis sa sistema. Basta tuluy-tuloy lang kung ano yung inaaral namin kada training, yung pina-practice, dapat mai-apply sa game,” he said after the game.</p><p>“Basta para maging solid yung galaw, andun lang sila, sunod lang nang sunod sa sistema. As an ate inside the court, kailangan ko lang din i-remind yung mga teammates ko na kaya nila.
