Photo from PVL Media Bureau</div>MANILA (UPDATED) – Petro Gazz claimed the top seed in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference at the expense of Nxled, 22-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-22 on Saturday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City. The last time the Gazz Angels clinched first place after the preliminaries was in the 2019 Reinforced Conference. Now backed by returning middle blocker MJ Phillips, Koji Tsuzurabara&#x27;s cogs ended on top with a 9-2 win-loss slate alongside Choco Mucho (26 points) and Chery Tiggo (25 points), but captured the most points with 28. Not just that, they will enter the next round on a high after winning their last five matches, including a crucial victory over defending champions Creamline Cool Smashers. Phillips made an immediate impact in her first game back, delivering 11 points including pivotal ones late in Set 4 to help seal the deal for the Gazz Angels in front of the Pasig faithful. &quot;It feels good to be back, honestly. Seeing familiar faces but also seeing new faces as well. Kamille Cal fired one to save match point but Camille Victoria suffered a service error to deliver the match to the surging Petro Gazz. &quot;Being down the first set, of course no one likes that but it just shows our character. We didn&#x27;t wanna back down, we still kept pushing even though things were shaky.
