Photo from PBA Images.</div>MANILA (UPDATED) — The Meralco Bolts fended off a tough Barangay Ginebra San Miguel comeback to tie their semifinals series at one game apiece.Meralco scored a 103-91 Game 2 win over the Gin Kings in their 2024 Philippine Cup semis clash on a rainy Sunday afternoon at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.Allein Maliksi powered the Bolts’ charge with 25 points, while Chris Newsome backstopped him with 20 markers, four boards, and three dimes. &quot;That&#x27;s one of those we talked about, keeping the poise whatever comes,&quot; said Newsome after the game, pointing out how they avoided a meltdown despite the momentum swinging towards the Tim Cone-coached squad in the third frame. However, Bolts mentor Luigi Trillo maintained that there is still a lot to be worked on for his team as they aim for a 2-1 lead come Wednesday. &quot;We&#x27;re more aligned today, but we have things to improve on. We know Ginebra&#x27;s going to come back, and we have to be ready,&quot; he said.Meralco failed to hold onto a 60-43 lead in the third as Stanley Pringle, Maverick Ahanmisi, and Christian Standhardinger powered a 29-10 run to allow Ginebra to overtake their rivals, 72-70, late in the same quarter.Both teams went on to lock horns in the fourth as the Bolts were only ahead by one, 88-87, with still 6:00 left in the game, but this is when Trillo’s boys started to pull away yet again.Raymond Almazan fired a three-pointer as well as a mid-range jumper to extend their advantage to two possessions, 93-87, while a Newsome lay-in a few minutes later increased it to eight.Ahanmisi tried to jumpstart another comeback as his baskets cut their deficit to six, 97-91, but that was the closest that they could get as Bong Quinto and Chris Banchero delivered the closing blows to not only tie the series at 1-1 but also spoil Christian Standhardinger’s 41-point, 11-rebound career game. Ahanmisi was the next top scorer for BGSM as he posted 14 markers as well as eight boards and two dimes, while Pringle finished with 13.Both teams will look to get the advantage on May 22, 7:30 PM at the Dasmariñas Arena in Cavite.The Scores:MERALCO - 103 — Maliksi 25, Newsome 20, Hodge 13, Banchero 11, Almazan 7, Quinto 7, Mendoza 6, Bates 6, Pascual 5, Caram 3, Rios 0, Torres 0.GINEBRA -  91 — Standhardinger 41, Ahanmisi 14, Pringle 13, J.
