Photo from PBA Images.</div>MANILA — The San Miguel Beermen are back in the PBA Finals once again.This, after the Beermen overcame the Rain Or Shine ElastoPainters, 107-100, during their 2024 Philippine Cup semifinals clash on Friday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.June Mar Fajardo put up a 17-point, 23-rebound game while also tallying six assists as they make their return to the league’s championship round for the second time in Season 48.After facing a 19-point deficit, 78-59, following a triple by Rence Nocum at the 5:31 mark of the third quarter, the Beermen weathered Rain Or Shine’s storm slowly and eventually got to within two in the fourth, 93-91 thanks to an and-one by Jericho Cruz.However, Gian Mamuyac and Beau Belga refused to give in to the mighty SMB, as the former converted on a jumper while the former hit a huge triple to re-extend their lead to seven, 98-91, with only 5:15 remaining in the game.Three consecutive hits from CJ Perez and Don Trollano then got SMB to within one in the next plays, while a follow-up from Fajardo in the last minute allowed them to overtake RoS, 101-100.It was Perez’ trey at the 0:25 mark, however, that served as the dagger for the E-Painters as this allowed them to extend their lead to two possessions and oust their counterpartsThey are now waiting for the winner of the semis clash between Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and the Meralco Bolts who are tied in their own series, 2-2.
