Filipino Asian imports Thirdy Ravena and Rhenz Abando have parted ways with their respective teams.

Ravena, who had a stellar year with San-En NeoPhoenix in the 2023-24 season of the Japan B.League, is set to become a free agent, the team announced Friday.

“We would like to inform you that at San-En NeoPhoenix, the 2023-24 player contract of Thirdy Lavena has expired,” the squad posted on their website.

“It will be posted on the list of free negotiation players announced by the B.League at 15:00 on Friday, May 24 today,” they added.

The former Ateneo de Manila University star started his professional career with San-En as he was among the Filipinos who, in recent years, opted to play overseas.

That is why Thirdy was grateful for his stay donning their colors.

“I just want to thank this club for welcoming me with open arms. The last four years have been a crazy ride, but I’m happy to do it with this team,” he wrote.

“Thank you to all the Boosters and the rest of the NeoPhoenix Community. Go Phoenix!”

Meanwhile, Abando is also set to become a free agent after announcing on his social media account that he will be leaving the Anyang JKJ Boosters of the Korean Basketball League.

“Thank you for giving me the chance to let me showcase my talent and passion for the game. Thank you for trusting me. I wouldn’t be the person I am today if it wasn’t for you and not because of the opportunity that you’ve given me, I would not receive this kind of respect that I experience nowadays," he penned.

“It was a great two-year ride. It was like a roller-coaster ride with a lot of ups and downs. But nonetheless, I learned a lot," added Abando, who joined Anyang in mid-2022 after his championship stint with Colegio de San Juan de Letran.

In an interview during Game 2 of the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball finals, Abando expressed his willingness to join Gilas Pilipinas once again if his services are to be called.
