<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib fr-fil" style="width:900px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1714726024037UAAP86 3X3 - FRANCIS LOPEZ-2051.jpg" style="width:900px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">UP&#x27;s Francis Lopez. <em>UAAP Media</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA <span id="isPasted" style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0);letter-spacing:normal;orphans:2;text-align:start;text-indent:0px;text-transform:none;widows:2;word-spacing:0px;-webkit-text-stroke-width:0px;white-space:normal;text-decoration-thickness:initial;text-decoration-style:initial;text-decoration-color:initial;display:inline !important;float:none">–</span> The University of the Philippines (UP) has forfeited its remaining games in the UAAP Season 86 Men’s 3x3 Basketball Tournament.</p><p>Prior to Day 2 of the tournament, UP had already informed the league that it would no longer play its games, citing the lack of manpower to push through with the tournament.</p><p>During the opening day of the competitions, the Fighting Maroons only fielded the trio of Francis Lopez, Harold Alarcon, and Chicco Briones.</p><p>“We regret to inform our fans and supporters that the UP Men&#x27;s Basketball Team was not able to field a 3-man line-up for today&#x27;s UAAP Season 86 3x3 Basketball Tournament due to injury,” the team’s statement read.</p><p>“FIBA 3x3 rules state that ‘a team shall lose the game by forfeit if at the scheduled starting time of the game the team is not present on the playing court with 3 players ready to play,’” it continued.</p><p>“Due to this, the UP Men&#x27;s Basketball Team has forfeited its remaining games in the tournament.”</p><p>The Fighting Maroons were scheduled to face Far Eastern University and De La Salle University Friday, University of Santo Tomas and National University on Saturday, and University of the East on Sunday.</p><p>All those games will now be scored with a W-0 scoreline, with the opposing team being credited with a full 21 points.</p><p>Meanwhile, UP’s 21-15 win over Ateneo de Manila University and 18-22 loss to Adamson University will still count in the standings.</p><div><strong>RELATED VIDEO: </strong></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/n21kw9Htdqo??si=XQYzTfTA7XvJ5dCF&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div>
