MANILA -- After three years of focusing on Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, the Collegiate Center for Esports decided to add Call of Duty: Mobile as one of the titles to be played in its annual tournament, the Philippine Collegiate Championship.

Speaking to the press last week, Ean Goquinco, the marketing lead of the tournament said it was time to diversify the tournament, citing the game's popularity.

"Kumbaga apart from popularity it's catering to the different students and the community marami talaga ang nagfi-first person shooting games. Sometimes, may overlap. Sometimes wala so it's just catering to more students who play these games," Goquinco said during CCE's press event.

Meanwhile, PCC made changes to its format, with four regional cups to be held in the NCR, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

They will employ an open qualifier until the top 8 teams are determined.

The champion per region will qualify to the PCC National Finals.

CCE will also partner with WP Gaming and Japan digital marketing company Lunatone Inc for a brief internship program they can offer to students.

“Gusto ko magkaroon ng experience ang mga bata sa professional esports para maexperience nilayung paano maging professional  which is in line with their careers. Sila naman sa WP/Gaming and Lunatone Inc.  yung  career and experience para pagdating ng araw sanay na sila,” said CCE chief executive officer Stanley Lao said.
