Photo from PBA.</div>MANILA — The PBA is set to introduce a new feature when it resumes play on August 18 for its 49th Season.Asia&#x27;s pioneer play-for-play league will now be played with the &#x27;four-point shot,&#x27; a rule that they implemented in the previous 2023 and 2024 All-Star Games.The four-point shot will be from beyond a 27-foot-arc, and it is one of the programs of the PBA that will help them &quot;make the game more exciting,&quot; they said in a statement.&quot;Nagawa na natin ito sa All-Star Game. With this rule, mababawasan ang zone defense, lalabas ang depensa at mas tutulin ang laro,&quot; said newly elected vice chairman Alfrancis Chua during the PBA&#x27;s Board Planning in Japan.The Barangay Ginebra team governor, who succeeded TerraFirma Dyip&#x27;s Bobby Rosales, will be working alongside TNT Tropang Giga&#x27;s Ricky Vargas who was voted to stay in his post as PBA Chairman.&quot;With chairman Ricky, okay ang liga. Siya ang nagdadala sa amin, we follow his decisions and back him up,&quot; said Chua.Vargas is set to serve in his seventh term as the league opens its Season 49 in August, Atty. Ogie Narvasa is the new secretary and legal counsel, while Commissioner Willie Marcial was reconfirmed by the board to continue his second three-year term.Under the TNT executive&#x27;s continued leadership, the PBA is hoping to become the No.1 basketball entertainment league in Asia. &quot;We&#x27;re not just remodeling a house but we&#x27;re building a house,&quot; said Vargas.To do this, they are focusing on improving the quality and competitiveness of play, re-establishing the league as the source of the best talent for Gilas and a net exporter of players in Asia, focusing on fan engagement, and investing in ancillary business including the construction of an own arena and expanding CSR (corporate social responsibility) programs.&quot;We&#x27;re looking at properties in Metro Manila, about two to three hectares ang laki.
