Groups were based on the standings from the last All-Filipino Conference.</p><p>The group phase has two stages, starting with a single round-robin format.</p><div><a class="fr-green" href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/sports/2024/6/18/pvl-opens-combine-activities-to-free-agents-1608"><strong>READ: PVL opens combine activities to free agents</strong></a></div><p>The second part will be a crossover between the top three teams from Pool A against the bottom three of Pool B in Pool C, while the upper three squads from Pool B will compete against the lower-ranked teams of Pool A in Pool D.</p><p>After the preliminaries, they will be ranked using the FIVB Classification System<span id="isPasted" style="line-height:107%">—</span>and only eight squads will advance to the knockout quarterfinals.</p><p>Winners of that round will have the chance to compete in a do-or-die semifinal.</p><div><a class="fr-green" href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/sports/2024/5/19/pvl-set-to-hold-first-ever-rookie-draft-in-july-1627" id="isPasted"><strong>READ: PVL set to hold first-ever Rookie Draft in July</strong></a></div><p>The top two teams from the semis will compete in a winner-take-all gold medal match, while the losers will battle for the last position on the podium.</p><p>It was also announced that to give way for the Invitational Conference in September, the Reinforced Conference will feature three games on all preliminary game days.</p><p>The Highrisers, led by Brazilian import Monique Helena, will be facing Nxled, which has yet to announce its import to open the curtains at 2 p.m. on that day.</p><p>American spiker Katherine Bell and the Crossovers will battle the Foxies in the 4 p.m. bout.</p><p>To conclude the opening day, the Cool Smashers-supported Erika Staunton will be tested against returning Russian hitter Lena Samoilenko and the High Speed Hitters.</p><p>Other imports tapped by several teams were Oly Okaro (Akari), Marina Tushova (Capital1), MJ Perez (Cignal), Zoi Faki (Choco Mucho), and Asaka Tamaru (ZUS Coffee).
