MANILA – Volleyball star Jia de Guzman will reunite with her Japanese squad soon.

The decorated playmaker of Alas Pilipinas is set to boost the Denso Airybees again in the Japan V.League Division I — also closing all questions related to whether De Guzman will be donning the Creamline jersey again in the foreseeable future.

Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) national team chairman Ricky Palou revealed her contract with Denso was renewed.

"Her contract in Japan has been renewed so I think she’ll go back there. I think today or tomorrow she’s leaving na for Japan," said Palou.

The development would mean that Julia Coronel will be left as the lone offense orchestrator of Alas Pilipinas.

Palou said business will continue as usual for the national team. De Guzman will be wearing the Alas jersey again around May next year, he said.

"In the meantime, the team will be practicing pero as far as I know, after May, babalik na siya dito for the national team. When the national team calendar comes into play, she’ll be back in the Philippines for the Alas team."
