Filipino athlete John Cabang has withdrawn from the repechage of the men's 110-m hurdles in the Paris Olympics due to injury.

In an Instagram story, Cabang said that he is "so sorry."

"I'm not gonna be able to run due to an injury. Thanks to all the people who supported me. Laban Pilipinas!"  he added.

Cabang placed sixth in the heats, with a time of 13.66 seconds. He was supposed to run in the second repechage heat, wherein the top two will advance to the semifinal.

With Cabang's withdrawal, the campaign of the Philippine athletics team in Paris has now ended.

Lauren Hoffman bowed out of contention in the women's 400m hurdles on Monday after a last-place finish in her own repechage heat.

Meanwhile, pole vaulter EJ Obiena agonizingly missed the podium, placing fourth.
