MANILA – San Miguel captured its fifth win in the 2024 PBA Governors' Cup after rising over Phoenix, 139-127, behind the 49-point explosion of returning Jordan Adams on Friday at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

The triumph marked SMB's third win in a row.

Adams, who has donned the Beermen jersey again, made sure that they made the right choice after Sheldon Mac only played one game for coach Jorge Gallent and company.

Reflecting on his massive night, the American basketball player, who shot at a 16-of-27 clip and had 11 rebounds to his name, said he was just there to help his team.

"Most importantly, we got the win. I just went out there and played hard and tried to get the win for my teammates," Adams said.

Gallent was happy that Adams chose to stay despite the "import experiment."

"You know what's nice about Jordan? He was professional enough to stay with us and to play with us again. I'm very happy that Jordan stayed and I'm very happy with his game," Gallent said.

Local stars CJ Perez and June Mar Fajardo chipped in 23 and 22 points for the winning side, respectively.

Adams' counterpart, Brandone Francis, also had a dominant 48-point eruption but this went down the drain as the Fuel Masters absorbed the defeat.
