Photo from NCAA Philippines</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA (<strong>UPDATED</strong>) — Emilio Aguinaldo College has finally ended its curse against San Beda University.</p><p>The Generals made history as they finally beat the Red Lions, scoring a 68-55 win during their men&#x27;s Season 100 men&#x27;s basketball clash on Tuesday at the San Juan Arena.</p><p>Before this triumph, EAC was 0-27 against San Beda since they first competed in the grand-old league as a guest team in 2009.</p><p>&quot;It was a very good win. We were able to bounce back from our abysmal performance against College of St. Benilde, and we needed this win, kung hindi, mababaon kami sa standings,&quot; said EAC head coach Jerson Cabiltes following their historic win. </p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/sports/2024/9/14/st-benilde-cruises-past-eac-in-ncaa-100-1950">READ: St. Benilde cruises past EAC for third straight win in NCAA 100</a></div><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/sports/2024/9/8/ncaa-gurtiza-eac-outlast-arellano-in-overtime-1913">READ: Gurtiza, EAC outlast Arellano in overtime</a></div><p>Leading the Generals against the defending NCAA champions was Harvey Pagsanjan who had 14 points, seven rebounds, and a steal, JC Luciano posted 13, while Axel Doromal added six markers, six assists, and three rebounds. </p><p>&quot;Nung halftime pa lang, I told the boys na San Beda is going to come out aggressive in the second half. Binilin ko lang sa kanila na double the effort,&quot; said Cabiltes who pointed out how they shifted into higher gears in the third after already leading by 13 at halftime.</p><p>EAC even led by as much as 29, 58-29, later in the game. This was all they needed to deal with the fourth-quarter fightback of San Beda, even if the Red Lions limited them to scoring only five points in the final quarter. </p><p>Another factor that made this possible was how they limited Bryan Sajonia — who previously tallied his career high of 26 against San Sebastian College-Recoletos — to only three points on 1-of-7 shooting.</p><p>&quot;It was more on limiting his touches,&quot; said Cabiltes. &quot;Baka nga napanaginipan na ng players ko si Sajonia kasi I kept on emphasizing na their sets, sa kanya babagsak.&quot;</p><p>Despite the win, Cabiltes insisted that what EAC wants to look at rather is the bigger picture of finally cracking the semifinals. </p><p>&quot;Hopefully, this game will bring us right on track going to our next games. Even though we ended the skid against San Beda, walang kwenta yan if we&#x27;re not gonna make the Final Four.
