Photo from NCAA Philippines."/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">Letran veteran Pao Javillonar. <em>Photo from NCAA Philippines</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — Pao Javillonar made an outstanding NCAA 100 debut with Colegio de San Juan de Letran against Arellano University.</p><p>The 6-foot-6, fifth-year player of the Knights made his return to the grand-old league after serving his two-game suspension in winning fashion, with Javillonar posting his career-best of 28 points on top eight rebounds, two blocks, and two steals in their 86-79 win. </p><p>&quot;Wala yun sa&#x27;kin, kung ano yung puntos ko, ang importante sa akin yung win,&quot; said Javillonar, who is playing his last season in the NCAA before he enters the PBA with the Converge FiberXers who picked him 19th overall in the 2024 Rookie Draft. </p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/sports/2024/9/17/ncaa-pao-javillonar-letran-complete-comeback-vs-arellano-1459">READ: Pao Javillonar returns with 28 as Letran completes comeback vs. Arellano</a></div><p>Javillonar had to sit out two games after briefly appearing for Converge in a preseason tournament. After making his Season 100 debut, the three-time champion said he did not expect to set a career-best on Tuesday&#x27;s game.</p><p>&quot;Tinatanong nga nila kung anong ritual ko, usual lang, kung ano lang yung ginagawa ko araw araw. Ginagawa namin &#x27;to sa training eh, execution lang,&quot; he said.</p><p>If there is one thing that changed for Javillonar -- who was previously known for his on and off-the-court antics -- it is his overall approach to the sport. </p><p>&quot;Bagong coach, bagong sistema,&quot; said Javillonar. &quot;Nag papayat ako para mag fit ako sa sistema. Yun yung unang ginawa ko. Kung ano rin yung mga in-inject ni coach sa sistema, in-absorb ko lang. Marami kasi akong natutunan kay Coach Allen [Ricardo] eh.&quot;</p><p>Javillonar bared that he changed his diet going into the season, with the bruiser even trimming down from 105 kgs to 93, and he added that being drafted into the PBA also played a factor in this. </p><p>&quot;Nagpapayat ako, may iba na sa pagkain ko, sa nutrition,&quot; he said. &quot;Nag start &#x27;to nung nag pa-draft ako sa PBA. Iba na yung labanan eh. Kailangan alaga sa katawan at disiplinado. Trabaho na &#x27;to eh, long term na to eh,&quot; he said.</p><p>However, the Letran veteran&#x27;s motivation stays the same — he wants to help bring back the Muralla-based institution to the top of the NCAA after an abysmal 2-16 showing last year. </p><p>&quot;Yung Letran kasi, yung level of basketball dapat highest performance eh, kaya yun yung binibigay namin,&quot; he said. </p><p>&quot;Ang nag motivate sa akin is yung nangyari nga last year, gusto naming maging back on track, ibalik yung legacy sa Letran. Yung sa PBA after muna yun, ito muna. Ito yung magdi-dikta kung ano yung mangyayari sa future. They will still rely on the balanced offense of Ricardo -- a system that brought the 1st-year coach two titles in the high school level with the Squires.  </p><p>&quot;Kung sino yung mainit, suportahan kami,&quot; he said. &quot;Walang lamangan, anyone can shoot, can be the leader.&quot; </p><p>What he is promising rather, is to live up to his role as co-team captain together with fellow veteran Kobe Monje. </p><p>&quot;Ako, vocal lang.
