The Fighting Maroons improved to 5-0 in the men's basketball tournament after they turned back the Soaring Falcons, 69-57, during their clash on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

"Kami kasi, even sa practices namin would always remind ourselves to always give our best," he said after the game. "As I said, nasa early part pa lang tayo ng tournament, maybe that's something to be complacent about. But then, siyempre, alam natin imperfect yung laro. Sometimes, yung intensity is lacking but it doesn't mean naman we're complacent. It's just that we need to remind each other na every time to be able to give our best," he added.

That was all they needed to send the Soaring Falcons crashing to their third loss in six games, and Coach Gold explained that what changed for them was not looking ahead to their future assignments.
