The Franco Atienza-mentored team erased a 27-point deficit en route to a 114-112 win against the San Miguel Beermen during their quarterfinals Game 3 clash, Monday evening at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila.

"Coach drew it up for me. He trusted me to take the last shot, so I just believed in my shot. I've been working on that shot after every practice, so I just thank God that it came out this game," Alec detailed.

They did not give up, indeed, as before the final play, both teams sat at 104 after Converge erased a 83-56 lead by San Miguel.

Atienza said that this was a matter of his team refusing to give in despite the fact that they are up against the perennial powerhouse that is San Miguel.
