PBA Images"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">Meralco guard Anjo Caram goes for a layup against Converge in their 2024 PBA Governors&#x27; Cup game at the Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday. <em>PBA Images</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA -- Five players scored in double-digits as the Meralco Bolts overhauled a slow start to demolish Converge, 116-88, in the 2024 PBA Governors&#x27; Cup on Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum.</p><p>Allen Durham led the way for the Bolts with an all-around effort of 27 points, 14 rebounds, and six dimes in 36 minutes, while Chris Banchero added 24 points.</p><p>Anjo Caram (16), Alvin Pasaol (12), and Jolo Mendoza (10) also reached double-figures for the Bolts, as the team shot a blistering 52.6% from the field for the contest.</p><p>&quot;We didn&#x27;t start out too well, like the last game. As the game progressed, it seems like we had more of a sense of urgency,&quot; Meralco coach Luigi Trillo said after the game.</p><p>The Bolts trailed 26-32 after the opening period and only had a 53-50 lead at the break.</p><p>But they outscored Converge 33-23 in the pivotal third period, and limited the FiberXers to just 15 points in the final quarter for what eventually became a comfortable victory.</p><p>Meralco improved to 4-1 in the tournament to take the top spot in Group A, while Converge suffered back-to-back losses and fell to a 2-3 win-loss slate.</p><p>Import Scotty Hopson led the FiberXers with 33 points, six boards, and six dimes, while Alec Stockton had 13 points. </p><div><strong>The Scores :</strong></div><p><strong>MERALCO 116 </strong>– Durham 27, Banchero 24, Caram 16, Pasaol 12, Mendoza 10, Cansino 6, Newsom 5, Quinto 5, Jose 5, Rios 3, Bates 2, pascual 1</p><p><strong>CONVERGE 88</strong> – Hopson 33, Stockton 13, Delos Santos 12, AMbohot 10, Santos 8, Winston 5, Maagdenberg 4, Andrade 3, Fleming 0, Racal 0, Nieto 0, Caralipio 0, Melecio 0, Fornilos 0, Cabagnot 0</p><p><strong>QUARTERS</strong>: 26-32, 53-50, 86-73, 116-88</p><div><br/></div><div><br/></div><div><br/></div>
