Coach Gavina’s actions were contrary to these principles,&quot; the UAAP said.</p><p>&quot;As a teacher and leader, a coach sets a high standard for the student-athletes and the university community,&quot; the statement further read.</p><p>Gavina&#x27;s suspension will begin on Sunday, when the Red Warriors face the Far Eastern University Tamaraws. </p><p>The penalty will continue through the team&#x27;s first three games in the second round.</p><p>&quot;The UAAP reiterates its commitment to fostering a culture of respect, integrity, and sportsmanship across all participating universities,&quot; the UAAP said.</p><p>Lingolingo had earlier been given a three-game suspension for his unsportsmanlike foul committed against La Salle guard Kean Baclaan, who suffered a knee injury in the incident. Despite Gavina issuing a public apology, he was directed to explain his post-game remarks and conduct.</p><p>&quot;The use of profane language and making unfounded allegations against game officials is unacceptable in the UAAP. Any future statements that demean or disrespect referees will result in sanctions,&quot; the UAAP said on Friday.</p><p>&quot;The Commissioner’s Office remains steadfast in its mission to develop a pool of high-quality, consistent officials in alignment with FIBA standards,&quot; it added.</p><p>The UE Red Warriors are currently 0-6 in the tournament and will have to play on Sunday without Lingolingo and Gavina.</p>
