Leading the Knights were Jimboy Estrada who fired 20 points, three rebounds, and three assists, and Kevin Santos who listed 17 markers, seven boards, three steals, and two blocks. “We needed to focus doon sa maliliit na bagay,” said Letran coach Allen Ricardo as the Muralla-based crew notched their sixth win in 10 games, tying College of Saint Benilde for the second spot in Group B. “We know how dangerous JRU is, so we had to stay humble,” added Ricardo, whose team used a 12-to-nothing charge at the end of the first frame to dominate later on by as much as 18 later on. On the other hand, Shawn Argente’s 16 points and Harry Herrera’s 14 markers were spoiled as the Heavy Bombers absorbed their fifth loss in 10 games. JRU fell short of utilizing the momentum it got from its 79-77 escape of Arellano University last Wednesday, settling for fourth place in Group B with only three games left in the eliminations. The Scores: Letran 85 – Estrada 20, Santos 17, Manalili 8, Roque 8, Cuajao 7, Bunselida 7, Omega 7, Silorio 6, Rosilio 3, Montecillo 2, Tapenio 0, Gammad 0, Gazzingan 0, Yusi 0. JRU 71 – Argente 16, Herrera 14, Laurenaria 11, Garupil 11, Salvador 11, Benitez 4, Panapanaan 2, Duque 2, Sarmiento 0, Castillo 0, Peñaverde 0, Casinillo 0, Canoza 0. Quarterscores: 23-17, 49-36, 63-53, 85-71.</div>
