<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px;display:block" width="960"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/17659764014639Z9A2866.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">La Salle standout Mason Amos. <em>Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN News</em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — In his journey to his first UAAP title, Mason Amos had to face a lot of adversities.</p><p>Amid the noise and criticisms surrounding his school transfer—the infamous move from Ateneo de Manila University to De La Salle University, and an MCL injury he suffered earlier in the season—Amos&#x27; journey to triumph isn&#x27;t exactly smooth.</p><p>But now, he has one feat that could silence his critics—a UAAP title.</p><p>&quot;People can say what they want. I mean, I&#x27;m a champion. It&#x27;s gonna be history. No one can take that away from me,&quot; said Amos, who dropped 11 points, three rebounds, and four assists, helping La Salle reach the UAAP mountaintop again at the expense of University of the Philippines, 80-72, in Game 3 of the Finals on Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/basketball/2025/12/17/uaap-god-did-it-for-him-so-finals-mvp-mike-phillips-also-did-it-for-la-salle-2011"><strong>READ: UAAP: God did it for him, so Finals MVP Mike Phillips also did it for La Salle</strong></a></div><p>Still in disbelief, Amos was overwhelmed right after La Salle completed its redemption tour, having lost the finals against the same rival.</p><p>For the Taft-based gunner, nothing tops that feeling of triumph.</p><p>&quot;I can&#x27;t even explain it. Everything is worth it. All the hard work, all the days that we fell down, all the trials that God gave us—it&#x27;s all worth it,&quot; he noted.</p><p>Looking back, Amos said his injury was the &quot;hardest&quot; challenge he had to overcome this season.</p><p>But thankfully, he got the medical support he needed to be able to recover on time and play just in time for the UAAP Final Four and the Finals.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/basketball/2025/12/17/marcos-hails-la-salle-for-uaap-season-88-triumph-2019"><strong>READ: Marcos hails La Salle for UAAP Season 88 triumph</strong></a></div><p>&quot;Again, that one was probably the hardest thing, the hardest trial I had to face this year, the MCL injury. I was actually kind of shocked again that I was able to recover that fast, but again, it&#x27;s a credit to the doctor and the PTs because they got me back, and I was able to play in the finals in the Final Four also.&quot;</p><p>Amos said that he will spend the offseason continuing his rehab for his leg.</p><p>&quot;Again, just strengthening my leg.
