Photo from Facebook/FEU Tamaraws.MANILA — Far Eastern University-Diliman made a statement by ruling the 2025 Japan B.League U16 Challenge.</div>The Baby Tamaraws swept the two-day, six-team event which was held from February 1-2 at the Yoyogi National Stadium Second Gymnasium, with FEU-D capping it off with a 79-62 victory over the Sunrockers Shibuya.“I believe our team chemistry was the key to winning the tournament,” said Baby Tams captain Jacob Guiterrez, who posted 10 points and six rebounds in the championship-sealing win. “Without effective communication within the team, we wouldn’t have been able to score, and I don’t think we could have won.”Gutierrez also commented how adjusting to the circumstances in Japan also played a role in their stint there.“It took me some time to get used to the cold weather, which is different from the Philippines, but overall, I had a wonderful experience in Japan. I want to thank everyone who supported us in this tournament, including the people from my university and my teammates.”“Without their support and encouragement, we couldn’t have won. I really appreciate it. Thank you very much,” he added.FEU-D foreign student-athlete Imam Sene starred for them against Shibuya, putting up a 33-point, 30-rebound game with four shots, and this earned him a spot in the tourney’s Most Impressive Players.En route to their sweep, they defeated Veltex Shizuoka, 111-68, to start their campaign, and they followed this with a 68-53 victory over the Yokohama B-Corsairs before advancing into the championship game.
