MANILA – FEU Tamaraws head coach Sean Chambers has called on everyone to "move on for the betterment" of their exiting player, Veejay Pre.

Chambers stressed this message following the official departure of the UAAP Season 87 Rookie of the Year from the school, heeding his family's advice to leave the green and gold.

Pre was previously disclosed by FEU athletics director Mark Molina to be in a tough situation as his family persuaded him to leave FEU for another school.

Chambers had nothing but kind words for Pre, who announced his FEU exit on Wednesday night in an emotional social media post.

"It's a very unique situation, we love him, he's a kid and I think that's the adults and we need to stop talking about it," said Chambers.

"A lot of adults are making the decision for the kid and he's stuck in the middle. Because I think this is the first time ever I've seen a situation where a kid loves the university, he loves his teammates, he loves his school, he loves his coach and coaching staff, but he has to make a decision for the best of the family," he added.

The veteran mentor acknowledged that it's something Pre and his family needed to do.

"And I'm one of those who believe that as families, we always to make the things that we need to do. It may not all align together, but at the end of the day, you have a kid stuck in the middle and that's hard for a kid. So we all need to move on for the betterment of Veejay," said Chambers.

"We all love Veejay, Veejay loves us," he declared.

Pre's next school has yet to be known, but he is expected to sit out one season to compete again in UAAP senior's basketball.
