Photo from FilOil Preseason Cup Media. MANILA — Rey Remogat got a preview on Monday of what he will be doing for University of the Philippines in the UAAP Season 88 men&#x27;s basketball tournament later this year.</div>The spitfire guard finished with 12 points, four assists, and two rebounds for the Fighting Maroons in their 82-74 victory vs. National University in their 18th FilOil Preseason Cup debut  in San Juan City.For Remogat, what he would be leaning on as State U’s lead guard are the lessons that he got from former UP star JD Cagulangan.“Marami akong natutunan sa kanya na dapat kong madala this season,” said the former University of the East ace. “Yung championship experience niya, yung efforts niya, and yung pagiging fighter niya sa loob ng court, yun yung dapat kong makuha sa kanya.”Remogat was the Season 86 Most Valuable Player (MVP) runner-up — only trailing De La Salle University superstar Kevin Quiambao — before he moved to Diliman, which is why he is raring to return to the hardcourt.“Sobrang excited akong makabalik ng UAAP,” he said. “And nae-excite akong ipakita ulit ang talent ko.”But just before he flexes his might in the UAAP scene, Remogat is doing his part in welcoming another prized transferee in former Far Eastern University star Veejay Pre.In this regard, he is also following the footsteps of Cagulangan, who helped him in his move to UP. Photo from UAAP Media.“Pagdating niya, kinausap ko agad siya,” Remogat said of Pre. “Sinabi ko sa kanya na: ‘Shut the noise lang. ‘Wag niyang iisipin yung sasabihin ng iba sa kanya. ‘Di naman mahalaga yun sayo eh.’”</div>“Magkaiba kami ng weaknesses, pero kung ano yung weaknesses niya, yun yung dapat niyang i-work on,” he added.<div>Pre will be serving a one-year residency before he shares the court with Remogat in the UAAP.
