Photo from PBA Images."/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">Rain or Shine’s Anton Asistio vs. TNT in the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup semifinals. <em>Photo from PBA Images.</em></span></span></span>MANILA — The Rain or Shine ElastoPainters got a huge boost off the bench to avoid a 0-3 hole in the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup semifinals.</div><p>With RoS badly needing a breakthrough victory in their Best-of-7 affair vs. the TNT Tropang 5G, Anton Asistio had his best game of the conference on Sunday, putting up a game-high 24 points as well as six assists.</p><p>The Ateneo de Manila University product was even instrumental in their third-quarter breakaway as he scored 14 of his total production in the frame wherein they distanced themselves by as much as 27.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/sports/basketball/2025/6/29/pba-asistio-waxes-hot-as-rain-or-shine-dominates-tnt-for-semis-win-no-1-1923">READ: Asistio waxes hot as Rain or Shine dominates TNT for first win in semis</a></div><p>“It’s just being ready to step up, kasi yun nga kulang kami, I know I&#x27;m gonna get my chance,” said Asistio, who also drained a buzzer-beating four-point shot in the aforementioned frame.</p><p>Prior to Game 3, Asistio only had a total of three points in their first outings.</p><p>But with the Elasto Painters at risk of falling behind even further in the series, Asistio came alive -- a crucial development as they were already without guard Felix Lemetti.</p><p>“So it’s being ready to step up nga,” said Asistio of his performance. “Sabi rin ni Coach Yeng [Guiao], yung eliminations, iba pa yan sa quarterfinals at sa semis. The farther you go, kailangan mo i-elevate yung game.”</p><p>For RoS head coach Yeng Guiao, this contribution was crucial, to say the least, as they are hoping for an extended series to give themselves a better chance.</p><p>“At least, nanalo kami ngayon, we know it&#x27;s going to five games,” said the fiery mentor. “‘Pag nanalo pa ulit kami, we know it&#x27;s going to six games. So, we know our best chance is really taking this series longer, to the stretch.”</p><p>Now, the next step for Guiao’s troops is to tie the game, especially since they have a history of falling short in Game 4s after emerging victorious in Game 3s.</p><p>“Wednesday is the big game,” he pointed out. “We feel that if we can break through, ibig sabihin, nag-improve na kami.
